Follicular lymphoma of the duodenum.

چکیده
common site for the presentation of extranodal non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Depending on the series, follicular lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract accounts for 3.6 % of gastrointestinal lymphoma [1]. Above all, follicular lymphoma shows a predilection for the duodenum, where 55.6 %– 62.5 % of cases are located [1,2]. We present the case of a 47-year-old woman with epigastralgia. An elevated lesion like a flower petal was found at the second portion of the duodenum on panendoscopy (l" Fig. 1). Duodenoscopy showed a whitish lesion surrounding the major duodenal papilla (l" Fig. 2). Although the follicular lymphoma of the small intestine showed multiple whitish lymphomatous polyps [1, 3], ampullary carcinoma could be included in the differential diagnosis. Histopathologic evaluation from biopsy specimens revealed a proliferation of atypical lymphoid cells forming folliclelike structures in the lamina propria of the duodenum (l" Figs. 3 and 4). On immunohistochemical study, the atypical lymphoid cells were diffusely positive for CD20, CD10, and Bcl-2 (l" Fig. 5), but negative for cytoplasmic CD3e. Follicular lymphoma of the duodenum

Primary follicular lymphoma of the duodenum.
Follicular lymphoma, a common nodal lymphoma, is rare in the gastrointestinal tract. When seen in this location, duodenal involvement is frequent. Most patients have localized disease, and survival appears to be excellent even without treatment. Although the outcomes are improved, the morphologic, immunophenotypic, and genetic features remain similar to those of nodal follicular lymphomas. We d...
متن کاملA Rare Collision Tumor Composed of Follicular Lymphoma and Adenocarcinoma in the Ampulla of Vater: A Case Report
The duodenum is infrequently affected by malignant lymphoma, and follicular lymphomas of the duodenum are rare histological subtypes. There are no reported cases of collision of follicular lymphoma and other tumors in the ampulla of Vater. A 57-year-old Japanese man presented with jaundice, and abdominal computed tomography revealed a tumor of the ampulla of Vater invading the pancreatic head w...

A 46-year-old woman underwent upper endoscopy for evaluation of anemia, which revealed whitish granules at the duodenal papilla, diagnosed as duodenal follicular lymphoma (DFL) by biopsy. Computed tomography and abdominal ultrasonography revealed that follicular lymphoma was confined to the duodenum. Seven years after the diagnosis, fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography sc...

متن کاملA primary follicular lymphoma of the duodenum treated successfully with radiation therapy.
A 48-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of repeated episodes of epigastralgia. Endoscopy showed multiple whitish granules extending from the 2nd to 3rd portion of the duodenum. Biopsy specimens showed well circumscribed follicles with a monotonous population of predominantly small cleaved cells that were positive for CD20, CD10 and BCL2, but negative for CD5. A full staging study...
